Intensive Workshop with Bruno Genty – Creativity in Dance

The FREI ART FESTIVAL - Spring Edition, in cooperation with the German Professional Association for Dance Education, offers an intensive workshop for dance educators and dance professionals. Choreographer and dance educator Bruno Genty focuses on creativity as a central element in dance education and explores how it promotes expression, personality, and technical development.

This workshop provides both theoretical foundations and practical methods for promoting creativity in dance. Participants will explore the importance of creativity, its role in dance teaching, and effective approaches to stimulating creative thinking and movement. Through interactive exercises, improvisation games, and reflection, they will experience their own creative processes and learn how to design teaching units that combine creativity with the development of technical skills. The workshop is aimed at dance educators and artists who want to enrich their teaching with new, innovative approaches.

About Bruno Genty:

Bruno Genty, born in Paris in 1958, discovered dance during his mime training and studied with Karin Waehner, Aaron Osborn, and Jacques Garros. His career as a dancer, choreographer, and teacher has taken him throughout France, Europe, and the USA. He taught at the Bagnolet and Avignon conservatories and trained state-certified dance teachers in Bordeaux. As ballet master of the Europa Ballet, he worked with soloists from the Paris Opera and was involved in cultural policy and international projects for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

From 1990 to 2012, he directed the dance company Anatole Productions. He holds a state diploma as a dance teacher for contemporary dance and a doctorate in dance didactics. Since 2001, he has been a lecturer at the Anton Bruckner Private University, specializing in contemporary dance and dance education.
