The FREI ART FESTIVAL is a dance and cultural festival that has quickly become a sought-after hotspot in the international dance scene. Accessible, artistically demanding, interdisciplinary, yet still understandable, and with many interactive formats, it appeals to both professional dancers and amateurs.

With its high-quality performance program, diverse workshops, the legendary Outliers Dance Contest, and its cross-disciplinary approach encompassing dance, music, theater, and cabaret, the FREI ART FESTIVAL is a cultural celebration for people of all ages, backgrounds, and artistic experiences. It is a festival for the entire city of Freiburg and its international guests.

Workshops

Exciting dancers, renowned choreographers, and workshops in urban and contemporary dance are offered at Studio Pro Arte. The workshops cater to a range of levels, from open-level to intermediate, and vary in duration from one-day workshops to three-day intensive training sessions.

As part of FREI ART CONNECT, festival organizers, program coordinators, cultural policymakers, and representatives from the dance scene across Europe will gather at Studio Pro Arte on September 12th and 13th, 2023.

This All-Style Dance Contest prioritizes artistic and dance experimentation. All forms of dance are allowed to showcase before the jury and reach the final in front of an enthusiastic audience.
